The Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 6000 MT/s CL30 Intel XMP kit, part number CMT64GX5M2B6000C30, is a premium DDR5 memory kit in black. Corsair says it pushes the limits of performance and takes advantage of the higher frequencies and greater capacities of DDR5, optimized for Intel to complete a high-end PC. Two 32 GB modules make a 64 GB kit, a capacity aimed at heavy multitasking, content creation, virtual machines and large working sets. The manufacturer page shows an out-of-stock flag and a price, but the price is tied to a selector with many variants, so we cannot say with certainty which kit it describes, and we leave the price empty. This entry reads the specification, converts the ratings into nanoseconds and bandwidth, and sets the kit beside its siblings in our database. We have not benchmarked it.

The rating in detail

The tech spec lists a 64 GB kit of two 32 GB modules, a tested speed of 6000 MT/s, a tested latency of 30 and a tested voltage of 1.40 V. The speed rating is PC5-48000, which is 6000 times eight bytes. The default SPD profile on the module is 4800 MT/s at CL40 and 1.1 V, the baseline that any DDR5 board can run. The performance profile is Intel XMP, and the page describes customisable Intel XMP 3.0 profiles that you can save through the iCUE software, so that settings can be tailored by app or task. A CL30 rating at 6000 MT/s is a tight setting for DDR5 and the 1.40 V tested voltage is above the 1.1 V default, which is normal for an overclocked profile. Corsair lists an overclock power-management chip on the module. Our explainer on RAM sub-timings beyond CL shows why the CL number is only part of the timing story, and the page lists nothing about the secondary timings of this kit.

Nanoseconds and bandwidth

First-word latency is the CL number multiplied by 2000 and divided by the data rate, so this kit works out at 30 times 2000 divided by 6000, exactly 10.0 ns. At the SPD default, 40 times 2000 divided by 4800 is about 16.7 ns, so the XMP profile cuts first-word latency by about 40 percent on paper and raises the data rate by 25 percent. In dual-channel operation the theoretical peak bandwidth is 6000 times 8 bytes times two channels, which is 96 GB/s (arithmetic; achievable throughput is lower, and a four-module DDR5 setup would not run at this rating on most boards). Because the kit uses two modules of 32 GB, it keeps the lighter two-module loading that boards handle best at high DDR5 speeds, which is a sensible argument for choosing two large modules over four smaller ones when you need 64 GB.

Design and cooling

Corsair describes the module as built with precision forged aluminum, die-casting and anodization, complementing the styling of high-end builds. The headline engineering claim is patented DHX cooling: the memory is cooled through both the memory chips and the ground plane of the circuit board with its own dedicated heat spreader, to hold performance under extreme loads. The chips are described as hand-sorted and tightly screened, and the board as a custom high-performance PCB for signal quality and overclocking headroom. The heat spreader is listed as aluminum, no fan is included, and the weight field is zero, which we treat as missing data. The kit is a standard 288-pin-class desktop UDIMM, so it needs a desktop DDR5 slot. Because these modules are taller than a bare module, check clearance beneath your CPU cooler.

Lighting and software

Each module is lined with 12 individually addressable CAPELLIX RGB LEDs, which Corsair describes as ultra-bright and low in power consumption. The page lists lighting presets such as Color Pulse, Color Shift, Color Wave, Rain, Rainbow, Rainbow Wave, Spiral Rainbow, Visor and Watercolor, and says you can create your own effects with near-limitless customisation in iCUE, which also monitors temperature, voltage and frequency. The downloads section adds a plug-in for ASUS Aura Sync. If you run RGB parts from several brands, our overview of the iCUE, Aura and Mystic Light RGB software ecosystems explains how they overlap and conflict. Corsair also states that the memory's onboard voltage regulation and iCUE give finely tuned output and more stable overclocking.

Compatibility

Compatibility is the point to watch. The page lists Intel 700 Series and Intel 800 Series motherboards and the profile is Intel XMP, so this exact kit is for Intel systems. The page's related guides mention dual profiles that support both XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO in other Corsair kits, but this part number is not described as a dual-profile kit. Anyone building on AM5 should look for a kit that explicitly lists EXPO. A 64 GB capacity of two 32 GB modules is within what current mainstream boards support, but always confirm the maximum memory size and the memory support list for your board and BIOS version, because the boards differ.

Where it sits in our database

Our memory category already contains other capacity and speed points of the same brand. The closest sibling by capacity and speed is the Corsair DOMINATOR TITANIUM RGB 64GB DDR5-6000, which belongs to the Titanium line; a side-by-side view of the two is in the comparison of the Platinum and Titanium 64 GB 6000 kits. If you want the same capacity without the premium heat spreader and lighting, the Corsair VENGEANCE RGB 64GB DDR5-6000 CL30 sits in the same speed class at a simpler tier. The wider memory category includes the 32 GB Dominator Platinum kits at 5600 and 7200 MT/s as well as DDR4 options.

What the page does not say

The page does not list a weight, module dimensions or height, the memory chip maker, the number of ranks, the secondary timings or the exact LED effects supported on all boards. The price is shared with a selector of many variants and is not used. The page notes this variant is out of stock, so availability depends on the retailer. Before purchase, confirm clearance and the motherboard memory support list.
