The Corsair HX1500i is a 1500 W fully modular ATX power supply from Corsair's HXi Series, listed on Corsair's store under the SKU CP-9020261-NA. Corsair's headline for the series is platinum power at your command: three EPS12V connectors and fully modular cabling, with every connection needed for demanding upgrades, a fully digital design that provides clean, consistent power, and 80 PLUS Platinum certification. The 1500 W model sits at the high end of the HXi range, and the page lists it as multi-GPU ready, which points to systems with several power-hungry components. Corsair's page shows a retail price, but the variant selector and promotional items on the same page make it hard to tie that number to this exact unit, so this entry gives no price and no launch date. What follows is a reading of Corsair's published tables with a few labelled calculations. We have not measured the unit.

Ratings and rails

The power table lists the model code RPS0132 and the part number CP-9020260 with the factory suffix 75-005685. The part number printed in the table (CP-9020260) differs by one digit from the store SKU in the page header (CP-9020261-NA), which is plausible for a regional or packaging variant, but the page does not explain it, so we list both. The AC input is listed as 200 to 240 V at 10 A and 47 to 63 Hz. That is the first thing to notice: unlike most PSUs, this one is specified for 200 V mains and above, which suits 230 V regions but not a standard 120 V wall outlet. The +12 V rail is rated for 125 A and 1500 W, the +3.3 V and +5 V rails for 25 A each with a combined 150 W, and the +5Vsb standby output for 3.5 A and 17.5 W. As a check, 125 A multiplied by 12 V is exactly 1500 W, so the entire rating is on the +12 V rail. At the maximum 92 percent efficiency Corsair quotes, a full 1500 W load would mean roughly 1630 W drawn from the wall, which is our arithmetic and a best case. For help sizing, read our guide on how much PSU wattage you need.

Cables and connectors

The cable listing is the long one you would expect at this rating. There is one 24-pin ATX cable of 610 mm, two EPS 4+4-pin cables of 650 mm, three single PCIe 8-pin (6+2) cables of 650 mm, two double-headed PCIe 8-pin cables of 775 mm with 675 mm and 100 mm spacing, which gives four more connectors, and one 12V-2x6 (12+4-pin) cable of 650 mm. Adding them up gives seven PCIe 8-pin connectors across five cables plus the 12V-2x6 cable. For drives, there are two SATA cables with four connectors each (eight in total, matching the tech-spec table) and two PATA cables with four connectors each (eight). The unit also includes a USB Type-C to 10-pin cable of 525 mm, which we take to be the link used for iCUE monitoring, although the page does not say so. The power cables are Type 4 and flat, with only the 24-pin cable sleeved. For background on the high-power graphics connector, see our explainer on 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6.

Efficiency, noise and digital control

The page lists 80 PLUS Platinum, with Cybenetics Efficiency Platinum and Cybenetics Noise A-. In the copy, Corsair quotes up to 92 percent efficiency and says the Cybenetics certification is for lower power consumption, less noise and cooler temperatures. Our guide to 80 PLUS efficiency tiers explains how those grades work and why the difference between Gold and Platinum is smaller in practice than in a spec sheet. Cooling comes from a 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan with Zero RPM mode, which switches the fan off at low and medium loads. The HXi is fully digital: Corsair says the digital design provides clean, consistent power while minimising coil whine and noise. With iCUE software you can monitor the supply, toggle between single-rail and multi-rail +12 V mode and control the fan from the desktop. Modern Standby is supported, with quick wake from sleep and better low-load efficiency. The unit uses 105 C rated Japanese primary electrolytic capacitors and is rated for continuous output at 50 C, with an MTBF of 100,000 hours.

Standards, size and warranty

The standards listed are ATX12V 3.1 with formal ATX 3.1 certification, EPS12V 2.92 and a PCIe 5.1 12V-2x6 GPU cable in the box. The form factor is ATX, and the weight is 4 kg. The page's tech-spec table does not list dimensions for this model, so we give none; check the manual or the retailer's dimension line before buying, especially for a compact case. The warranty is ten years. The page also lists the unit as multi-GPU ready, and the package contents section shows what is in the box.

Where it sits in our database

The nearest relative in our database is the HX1000i, which lists the same HXi design philosophy at 1000 W: a 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan with Zero RPM mode, ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 certification, 80 PLUS Platinum with Cybenetics Noise A, fully modular Type 4 cables, a 650 mm 12V-2x6 cable in the box, single or multi rail selection through iCUE and a ten-year warranty. Set against it, the HX1500i adds 500 W of rating (50 percent more), a +12 V rail of 125 A against 83.3 A, and a 200 to 240 V input requirement. The HX1000i page we hold lists a 3 A standby output and a 3.3 V and 5 V current of 25 A, so the standby rating on the HX1500i is higher at 3.5 A. You can read the two side by side in our comparison of the HX1500i and the HX1000i, and the full power supply category is open for wider browsing.

What the page does not say

Corsair's page does not give a launch date, a dimensions line, exact efficiency percentages at each load, or the reason for the 120 V limitation beyond the 200 to 240 V input rating. It also repeats general guide links about PSU sizing and protections, and we do not reproduce their conclusions. Use this entry to check the facts that decide fit: the 200 to 240 V requirement, the 1500 W rating, the seven PCIe 8-pin connectors plus a 12V-2x6 cable, the USB cable and the ten-year warranty. If a unit of this size is more than you need, the smaller HXi and RM models in the category are likely to suit a single-GPU build better.
