The MSI X470 Gaming Plus MAX is a mainstream AM4 motherboard built around AMD's X470 chipset, supporting up to 64GB of DDR4 across four DIMM slots for any Ryzen CPU on the AM4 platform, from early Ryzen 1000-series chips through to the later 5000-series.
It offers two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for multi-GPU or add-in card flexibility, dual M.2 slots for NVMe storage, and a standard ATX form factor that fits the vast majority of mid-tower and full-tower cases without clearance concerns.
With AM4 now a mature, no-longer-actively-developed platform, boards like the X470 Gaming Plus MAX represent excellent value for budget builds and upgrades built around secondhand or discounted Ryzen CPUs.
